TEXT: 2 Cor.9:8; Eph.2:10; 1 Pet.4:10
Introduction
During the textual interpretation of our year’s theme, it became obvious to us that God does not
give grace without a purpose. The cardinal reason for grace is to enable us to carry out our God given assignment here on earth.
There are 3 things you can do with your life, time, talent, or treasures: waste it, spend it, or
invest it. It is better to invest your life in something that will outlast you here on earth. The worst
thing you can do with your life is to live simply for today and to live for yourself. God didn’t put
you here on earth to live for yourself.
God doesn’t put people on earth without giving them a life assignment. Your life’s assignment
may be your ministry opportunities, your job, your career, or how you serve your community.
You’re not on this planet just to be a placeholder and use up resources. You’re here on earth to
make a great contribution
What is Divine Assignment?
It is a task assigned by God to a person, which is intended to be fulfilled for the greater good of
others. It is a unique calling that comes with the ability to solve problems and make an impact
here on Earth. It is not limited to what you do in the church but also includes what you are
assigned to do at home, the marketplace, and the society at large.
Rick Warren said, “You have an assignment from God Himself. Once you are in the family, your
life changes. You have a new reason for living. Your life isn’t about you anymore, it’s about God’s
mission.”
